The UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw pulled out some intriguing clashes as the tournament heads into its business end.

Liverpool  and FC Porto have faced each other six times in European competitions, most recently in last season's UEFA Champions League round-of-16 where the Reds thrashed the Portuguese side 5-0 on aggregate.

Both clubs faced each other in the UEFA Champions League final in the 1995-96 season, which Juventus won on penalties.

Today, we take a look at what happened the last time these teams faced each other in European competitions.

United also beat Barcelona on their way to the UEFA Champions League crown in 2007-08 when Paul Scholes scored with that incredible long-range effort.

Before that, both teams faced each other in the group stage of the 2007/08 Champions League saw Porto hold Steven Gerrard led Liverpool to a 1-1 draw before being beaten 4-1 by them in the second leg.

Liverpool drew FC Porto, Ajax got Juventus, an all English tie between Tottenham and Manchester City also surfaced and the pick of them all, Manchester United were drawn with FC Barcelona.
