Harry Kane moved a step closer to Wayne Rooney’s all-time England goalscoring record by bagging against Kosovo this evening.

The Tottenham striker, who scored a hat-trick in Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing over Bulgaria at Wembley on Saturday, continued his fine form for his country by putting England in front at St Mary’s Stadium and is now on 26 international goals, 27 behind the former Everton and Manchester United forward.

Gareth Southgate’s men had fallen behind inside the opening minute before Raheem Sterling nodded home the equaliser to restore parity.

And just 11 minutes later, the Manchester City winger turned provider for Kane, spinning away from the defender before sliding in his teammate, who clinically did the rest from inside the box to make it seven goals in his last seven England matches.

The Three Lions lead 5-1 at half-time thanks to an own goal created by Jadon Sancho, who had since added two further goals himself.

You can see Kane’s thunderous left-footed strike in the video below.
