Tottenham to ‘create a plan’ for 28-year-old so he ‘can cope with 90 minutes’

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Tottenham will “create a plan” for Kieran Trippier so that he’ll be able to “cope with 90 minutes”.

“Now it’s good to create a plan for him to be right for the moment he’s going to play again, he can cope with 90 minutes, not like the previous game where we were always trying to manage the situation during the game because we’re thinking he cannot cope with 90 minutes.

“The most important thing now is to assess him, create a plan and make sure that the next time he’s available he can cope with 90 minutes and he can play without risk, although we appreciate it’s impossible to play 100 per cent without risk.” The fixtures pile up in December, with Tottenham due to play in eight games between now and the New Year – Leicester (December 8), Barcelona (December 11), Burnley (December 15), Arsenal (December 19), Everton (December 23), Bournemouth (December 26), Wolverhampton Wanderers (December 29) and Cardiff City (January 1, 2019).

The Tottenham boss is desperate for Trippier to avoid injury, so he and the coaching staff will conduct a plan to put in motion.

The 28-year-old is struggling with a groin injury that may force him to play through pain.

Aurier can provide cover, but Trippier is an important player to Tottenham which is why Pochettino is so desperate to end his injury woes.

Serge Aurier should deputise at right-back and Pochettino will work hard to find a way for the England international to cope with more playing time.
