According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are set to hit Serge Aurier with a heavy £140,000 fine after he once again breached lockdown guidelines.

The Ivory Coast international’s transgression came to light when he posted a photo of himself with his barber on Instagram. His actions have angered Spurs, who are set to fine the player two weeks worth of wages.

This is the third time now that the Ivory Coast international has been accused of the same since March. Aurier has previously been forced to apologize twice for breaking lockdown rules. He earlier posted a video of himself running with a friend and also training with Tottenham teammate Moussa Sissoko

Tottenham have been left red-faced by Serge Aurier-once again.

Spurs feel embarrassed by the player’s actions and it could count against the defender in the future. The player’s actions were also called out by a number of fans on social media. To say his reaction to it was condescending would be to put it kindly.

“My hairdresser is negative and me too so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre. It’s part of the rules too.”

Aurier is a player who divides opinion. He has often proven himself to be a liability on the potch. It now appears he is the same off it.

At a time when influential social figures have to set an example, the defender has let down both the club and the fans. More so, his reaction to being called out shows apathy and disregard to lockdown guidelines.

The club will be better off cutting their losses on the Ivorian

Tottenham will be better off shipping out the Ivorian. There are far better defenders who also happen to be responsible public figures out in the market.

Jose Mourinho and his men returned to group training on Wednesday after receiving their coronavirus test results from the Premier League.

However, it is not yet known whether Aurier was permitted to take part after players were warned about coming into contact with anyone outside those that they live with.
