Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Domagoj Vida from Besiktas this summer, reports Turkish news outlet Takvim.

Domagoj Vida, 29, enjoyed an excellent World Cup campaign last summer, guiding Croatia to the competition’s final, although they lost 4-2 to France.

Vida has all the qualities to thrive in the Premier League—he’s strong, physical, no-nonsense and aggressive kind of defender, whilst being able to play out from the back.

Also a leader and a fantastic organiser of the backline, the 71-cap Croatia international could be a solid signing for Spurs, provided we get him for cheap.

If Alderweireld leaves our club, Pochettino will be left with Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth and Jan Vertonghen as options in central defence.

The Croat has made 32 appearances for Besiktas across all competitions this campaign, impressing with his all-action defending.

The defender was tracked by Spurs during the summer transfer window but he remained at Besiktas, where he has shone since his move from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2018.
