Tottenham seized control of their Champions League Round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund with a 3-0 first-leg victory at Wembley on Wednesday night.

Following a goalless first-half Heung-min Son opened the scoring early in the second period with a calm side-footed finish.

Jan Vertonghen had provided the assist for Son's strike with a wonderfully weighted cross and he turned goal-scorer inside the final 10 minutes as he volleyed home the hosts' second.

And Spurs' night went from good to great moments later when substitute Fernando Llorente got his head to an Eriksen corner to put Mauricio Pochettino's side in the box-seat for a place in the last eight.

Driven on by Jadon Sancho, Dortmund had their chances in the first half, but struggled to gain a foothold in the second and were overrun in the end by their hosts.
