Tottenham Hotspur are set to hand Serge Aurier a huge fine after he broke lockdown rules for a third time, according to The Mirror.

Aurier’s actions have landed him in hot water with the club’s hierarchy, who feel he has embarrassed Spurs with several infractions so far.

Tottenham are now prepared to give him a maximum fine of two weeks wages, which is reportedly worth £140k.

The Sun reports his latest blunder could put his future in North London at risk as he has made a string of high-profile errors up until now.

Indeed, the Ivory Coast international was forced to apologise for flouting social distancing guidelines in a training session with Moussa Sissoko, after being pictured running with a friend.

However, the defender has defended his recent transgression on social media, attacking his critics on an Instagram story.

He wrote: “my hairdresser is negative and me too so stop talking in a vacuum and put on masks and gloves when you come to take pictures at the training centre. It’s part of the rules too.”

This defiance has not gone down well with club officials and the Lilywhites are ready to mete out an appropriate punishment.

Yes No

As it stands, it is fair to say Aurier hasn’t done himself any favours.

His career has been dogged by controversy right from the start, including allegedly assaulting a police officer on a night out in Paris.

After arriving at White Hart Lane from PSG for £22.5m in 2017, the 27-year-old has played 24 games in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal and creating four assists, making 3.1 tackles per game, averaging 1.5 interceptions and completing 2.5 clearances on average (WhoScored).

Jose Mourinho is keen to bring in a new right-back in the summer, meaning Aurier’s future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is in doubt.

Whether or not this proves to be the final straw remains to be seen, but it is highly the Ivorian will continue to test Daniel Levy’s patience in the future the longer he stays at the club.

Tottenham fans, do you think the board should sell Serge Aurier when the transfer market opens? Let us know down below!
