Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted that Alexis Sanchez was not 'ready' to play against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Chile international was left out of the United squad for the visit to Wembley - a week after he made his first start since November against Reading in the FA Cup.

Sanchez limped off last weekend after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring injury that kept him out for two months prior and Solskjaer maintained the Spurs game came too soon for him.

Sanchez has struggled since moving from Arsenal in January - he has only scored one goal in 14 appearances this season.

The 30-year-old has only managed four goals in 32 games for United overall, despite managing to score 24 goals in his last full season for the Gunners.
