Burnley have moved into eighth place in the Premier League - level on points with Tottenham - after last night's 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Turf Moor outfit have a place in Europe well within their sights after skipper Ben Mee scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute.

Mee flung himself at Ashley Westwood's free-kick and managed to direct his header past Vicente Guaita, who really should have kept the ball out of the net.

Wilfried Zaha was fit to start for Palace but he made little impact and it was left to defender Gary Cahill to have their best chance of the evening, but the former Chelsea and England man was unable to beat Nick Pope in the Burnley goal.

A disappointing display from Palace keeps them on 42 points and in 11th place in the table, while Burnley jump to 45 points - four points behind sixth-placed Manchester United.
