Mauricio Pochettino has told his unsettled stars to knuckle down and fight for their places.

Christian Eriksen made it clear he wanted to quit Tottenham in the summer while Victor Wanyama also saw a move collapse before deadline when Club Brugge and then Celtic tried to sign him.

But Pochettino insists they are both in his plans now and, despite Eriksen going into the final year of his contract, he must now “refocus” and get back to his best form.

He added: “The problem is about the performance, now we have Tanguy, Ryan or Lo Celso, they are going to come here, we sign them but they still need to fight for their place.

Tottenham boss Pochettino said: “Always it's difficult and then I think we are all agreed that Tottenham always have more rumours than other clubs.

“In one month I think it will start again with the rumours, for sure, because the situation of the squad is going to help those rumours appear.

Come on, you’re like me, you know the business.” Pochettino has summer signings Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele fit to be in the squad to face Crystal Palace but Giovani Lo Celso is out injured.
