Maurizio Pochettino has committed his future to Tottenham by signing a new deal in north London.

Son of former manager Mauricio, the 19-year-old joined the club's academy three years ago when his father was in charge of the Lilywhites,

Since then he's progressed from the club's U18 side to appear for Spurs in Premier League 2.

Netting one goal and one assist for the Lilywhites in Premier League 2 this term, he has also appeared regularly in the UEFA Youth League after making five appearances for the team, including in the 9-2 hammering of Red Star where he registered two assists.

With his contract due to expire at the end of this month, it was revealed last week on the Premier League retained list that he had indeed been offered new terms to remain at the club.

Well, the young winger has decided to extend his contract after announcing the news on his Instagram account.

"Looking forwards to the new season #COYS," he wrote.

Posing with his father in the first photo, his second image showed him signing on the dotted line.

A number of Spurs supporters picked up on what Mauricio was actually wearing alongside his son as he had a Nike Tottenham t-shirt on.

Dismissed by Daniel Levy in November after a poor start to the 2019/20 season, the Argentine clearly still feels very strongly about the club as can be seen from his choice of clothing.

Amid doubt over Maurizio's long-term future at the club at the end of last year following his father's exit, it appears that he has a bright future in north London as he looks to make his way into the first team.

Jose Mourinho has already named a number of the club's talented players in his matchday squad on a few occasions this term, with Harvey White on the bench for the recent game against Manchester United.

With Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott appearing in games for the senior side, Pochettino will be hoping he can follow in their footsteps and make his first-team bow over the coming years.
