Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has admitted a draw would have been a fair result against Tottenham.

While United were impressive for the first 60 minutes of the game, scoring through Marcus Rashford and having other chances, Spurs came roaring back.

"It was fantastic," Herrera said to United's website after the game.

"We have to be fair with ourselves and say the draw probably would have been fair.

"But I think we deserve these kind of things because we are working so hard, we are believing, we are following the plan that the manager and his assistants give us, and we have the number one in the goal."

And David De Gea had to make more than 10 saves to keep United's lead in tact.

The result puts them only seven points behind Spurs in the league, but still in sixth position.
