Trippier on “frightening” Ndombele

Former Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier has revealed he’s heard that Tanguy Ndombele is “frightening” from people at the club.

Ndombele became Spurs’ record-signing after joining from French side Lyon last summer but has had a largely underwhelming season for the north London club.

The Atletico Madrid defender said on the Beautiful Game Podcast: “I’ve not played with (Ndombele) but I’ve seen him play. From what I hear he’s unbelievable and supposedly he’s frightening.

“They’ve got some quality players, but, for me, the little fine margins of winning something is obviously when Mousa (Dembele) left. That’s my opinion. As a player, you don’t want to see a player like Mousa leave, especially in January. Unless there was something that he needed to leave or whatever, I honestly don’t know.”

Spurs have Clarke problem

Tottenham have a slight issue with defender Jack Clarke, who has not been featuring frequently for QPR whilst on loan at Loftus Road.

Clarke, who joined Spurs last summer, has been at the west London side this season but has featured just five times for Mark Warburton’s men in the Championship.

As Rob Guest writes, the fact that Clarke hasn’t even been involved in Warburton’s plans despite the increase in the amount of substitutions each team is allowed to make, is definitely a concern for Spurs.

Clarke is set to return to his parent club once the season ends, and Jose Mourinho could have a big decision over the 19-year-old’s future.

Bergwijn’s breakthrough and the impact it could have

Steven Bergwijn has impressed since signing for Tottenham in January, and has quickly become one of Spurs’ most dangerous attackers.

However, this may not be such good news for team-mate Ryan Sessegnon, as Will Magee writes.

Sessegnon is yet to feature at all since the Premier League’s restart and next season could be a big one for the 20-year-old.

Football.london have produced a tactical analysis on where the English winger could fit in for Mourinho’s side.
