The Bundesliga leaders were stunned 3-0 at Wembley Stadium against Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of their last 16 clash.

It was an unwelcome return to England for young sensation Jadon Sancho, who failed to help his side score an away goal.

The scoreline leaves Lucien Favre’s side with a mountain to climb in the second leg.

But former Manchester City star Sancho is refusing to write off his side’s hopes of making the last eight.

"I am happy that I am home and I hope I gave the audience something they never knew about me,” he told BT Sport.

“We will keep believing we can score more than them and hopefully we can get through to the next round."

Perhaps that confidence and belief shows just why the 18-year-old has taken Germany by storm this season.

Heung-min Son gave Spurs the lead in the second half latching onto Jan Vertonghen’s cross.

The Belgian then doubled their lead himself when he volleyed home a second.

Substitute Fernando Llorente capped a dream night for Mauricio Pochettino’s side when he headed home a third just before full-time.

The England international was quick to admit that his opponents were the better side.

"I don't have any words for the second half. We tried our best but they scored and were the better team,” he added.

"In the first half we played really well. We dropped a bit and lost focus. We need to keep focused for the whole game.

"Jan Vertonghen is a good player but hopefully next time we can handle it better. I am just happy that I am in England and playing in front of my family.”

Sancho was on target for Dortmund at the weekend against Hoffenheim in league action as they allowed Bayern Munich to close the gap at the top.

Despite leading 3-0 with just 15 minutes to play they surrendered the lead to draw 3-3 with Hoffenheim.
