Queens Park Rangers have won the race to sign Tottenham winger Jack Clarke after the teenager joined on loan for the remainder of the season, the club have confirmed.

The 19-year-old signed for Spurs from Leeds United in a £9m deadline day deal last summer, before heading back to Elland Road on a season-long loan deal.

However, Clarke made just three appearances under Marcelo Bielsa this term – playing just 19 minutes of Championship football – and was recalled by Spurs at the end of December, with the north London outfit desperate for the youngster to increase his playing time.

Since then, a host of Championship clubs, including Millwall, Middlesbrough and Stoke City have been battling for Clarke’s signature, but Tottenham were keen for him to remain in London and therefore, Mark Warburton’s QPR were the beneficiaries.

Clarke joins Spurs midfielder Luke Amos at Loftus Road, who is also on a season-long long deal.

Ironically, Clarke’s debut could come against his former side Leeds when the two clash in west London on Saturday.
