Heung-min Son hailed the performance of defender Jan Vertonghen after the Belgian was influential in Tottenham's 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

"Jan Vertonghen is technically unbelievable and can play in any position," Son told BT Sport.

"We showed that, Fernando [Llorente] came on too and scored an important goal."

Despite going up against the pace of Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi, the 30-year-old put in an incredible performance, creating the opener for Son before scoring the second with a well-timed finish.

"Harry [Kane] or Dele [Alli] are very important for us but we have players who can come in and do well.

The Belgian was forced into an unfamiliar left wing-back position after Danny Rose was deemed not fit enough to start.

The Korean was also impressive in Spurs's first-ever knockout victory at home and he credited Vertonghen's technical ability as the reason behind his strike - his ninth in 11 games against Dortmund.
