Mauricio Pochettino has revealed his concern over Harry Kane after the Tottenham striker hobbled off following their defeat to Manchester United.

"I think I am worried, because we will see what happens with Harry Kane, I think Moussa is only a small thing but we will see, we need to assess Harry Kane," he said.

Heung-min Son is usually the man to lead the line in Kane's absence, though the forward will now join up with South Korea at the Asian Cup, while Llorente has never truly been trusted to take on the task.

With Son leaving the Spurs squad is now stretched as thin as at any point this season, but Pochettino says it is a battle he has been fighting since arriving at the club.

Should he face a spell out Kane will become the tenth of 12 Tottenham players to feature at the World Cup to have since sustained an injury.

Having also lost Moussa Sissoko to injury in the first half, Pochettino said they will both have to be assessed.

Kane, who was caught by Phil Jones late on, had to receive treatment on the pitch after the full time whistle and limped gingerly towards the tunnel, with assistance from Fernando Llorente on the way.
