Four reasons why Tottenham should re-sign Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale’s career at Real Madrid was all but over as soon as Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu was announced last year.

Jose Mourinho seemed destined to manage Bale at Manchester United having just missed him at Real Madrid.

Bale scored in Zidane’s first game back at the helm - a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo last March - but he would only start four more games in the remainder of the season.

Bale forced his way into Zidane’s XI after Madrid’s shaky start to the season but a wretched run of injuries has limited him to just five starts since December.

Injuries aside, Bale, now a four-time Champions League winner, is quite possibly an even better player after seven years in Madrid.

Madrid will no doubt be looking to offload Bale again this summer - and Tottenham Hotspur should be interested in re-signing him.

Not a day would go by at one stage where Mourinho’s United weren’t linked with Bale.
