Former Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has confirmed he has tested positive for Covid-19.

Mexican club Monterrey - of whom Janssen signed for last summer - announced there had been one positive result from 50 tests carried out on players and staff last Thursday.

Janssen revealed he was the player to have tested positive across his social media platforms, reassuring fans that he feels well and recovering at home.

"Firstly, I just want to say that I feel fine. My test result for COVID-19 was positive," he said.

"I am at home taking care to be as soon as possible back with my team-mates. Thanks to everyone."

The Dutchman made 42 appearances during a three-year spell at Tottenham, one of which was spent on loan at Fenerbahce. He has regained form in Liga MX after a difficult spell in London, scoring 11 goals in 32 appearances, also winning his first career trophy by securing the 2019 Apertura title.
