Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is happy seeing Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale returning to the club.

He's such a talent, such a great player and it's waste to see him not playing," Redknapp told BBC Radio Wales.

Bale is believed to be closing in on a sensational loan return to White Hart Lane, seven years after he left for the La Liga giants.

"It's not going to be a case of Gareth taking any wage cuts, it's going to be a case of Real Madrid having to maybe take a third of his wages off Tottenham.

“Daniel Levy's a very good negotiator, so I'm sure he'll get the best deal for Tottenham."

He added: "The only way they'll do a deal is if Real Madrid meet at least half his wages.

While accepting the deal may be a difficult one to get over the line, Redknapp believes Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is the man for such difficult negotiations.
