ESPN journalist Michael Cox believes Son Heung-Min could end his career as the greatest Asian footballer ever.

The South Korean has been fantastic for Tottenham this season but more so, he has been key for the team in the absence of star man Harry Kane.

The England striker is expected to be out for a couple of more weeks, however, Son’s goals have allowed Spurs to cope well without their talisman (h/t ESPN): “The South Korean has been a steady and occasionally brilliant performer since arriving at Tottenham three and a half years ago, but over the past couple of months, he’s showcased the most consistent form of his career: 10 goals and five assists in his last 11 matches.” Cox further claimed that Son is a modern-day centre-forward who is fast, versatile and tactically intelligent.

The journalist added that the South Korean is one of the most ambidextrous footballers around from anywhere around the opposition box.

Son has scored in the wins over Newcastle, Watford, Leicester City and Dortmund as Tottenham scraped out wins against the three Premier League sides.

The journalist added that the South Korean is rarely linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs and said that the scenario could change in the summer.

Son has won the best Asian footballer award in four of the last five years, and Cox believed Tottenham have someone special in the team: The ESPN man hopes that the South Korean could reach that pedestal sooner if he picks up a Champions League medal this season.
