Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has suggested that Tanguy Ndombele could have been a Daniel Levy signing rather a Mauricio Pochettino one (via Football Insider).

He said: “You do start to wonder did Pochettino sign him?

Bent compared the signing of the 22-year-old to his situation when he joined the club under Martin Jol, questioning whether Pochettino wanted him.

I know when I went to Spurs, yes, Martin Jol was the manager and yes, he said he wanted to sign me but I think the real driving force was Damien Comolli.

Ndombele moved to the club from French side Olympique Lyonnais for a club-record fee of £53.8m in the summer transfer window (via BBC).

“Now I’m wondering did Pochettino even want to sign him?

The club have not won a Premier League away game since January (via Squawka), and have won just three of their 11 fixtures so far this season.
