This was all about David de Gea proving once again he is the best keeper in the world.

The United players took it in turns to go over and hug de Gea after the final whistle, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was high-fiving everyone and the jubilant away end saluted their heroes.

It was an incredible one man performance.

De Gea’s brilliance left the whole of Wembley scratching heads and wondering whether the Manchester United keeper is actually human.

Harry Winks missed a gilt edged early chance and, from then on, United looked well organised and defiant in defence and dangerous on the counter attack.

Tottenham could have played all night and not scored as de Gea single-handedly defied them as United pulled off a remarkable victory to prove they are well and truly back.

Forget all the talk about the managers and auditions.
