Manchester City are still hot favourites to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals despite trailing 1-0 to Tottenham after the first leg.

City manager Pep Guardiola came in for some criticism over his team selection after that defeat but his side are priced at just 4/6 to progress to the next round and a best priced 3/10 to win the match in 90 minutes.

Tottenham have already lost a 1-0 first-leg lead in cup competitions this season when losing to Chelsea on penalties in the league cup semi-final and the logical position is to expect the same again, especially as Tottenham will again be without Harry Kane, as they were for that second leg at Stamford Bridge.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side has coped admirably when forced to do without the services of England’s top striker and a more fluid attacking line-up of Lucas Moura, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son-Heung Min could force Manchester City’s defence to make far more decisions on when to close opponents down and get tight than they would otherwise have to make.

Manchester City were knocked out at this stage of last season’s Champions League and the 11/10 about Tottenham to qualify could appeal to some punters as the London side hold a decent record against City since the appointment of Guardiola.
