Celtic may have a better chance of landing Victor Wanyama the second time around as they consider a move before the January transfer window opens, according to reports.

The Kenyan, 28, has fallen out of favour at Tottenham and nearly left the club in August before a move to Club Brugge collapsed.

Wanyama might be more receptive to a move, with his wage demands seeming to have been prohibitive previously.

Wanyama was one of the Bhoys' star players during his time at Celtic Park and his performances under Neil Lennon earned him a £12.5million move to Southampton in July 2013.

The Times claim that Wanyama will be transfer listed by Tottenham, who will look to offload him at the next available opportunity.

"In the case of Victor, he suffered an injury and another player stepped up and took his place. We are in a team, we are not a charity."

"I am making clear the answer is not about Victor, but we are not a charity - it is about performance and the coaching staff have a lot of different options to play different players."
