Manchester City have been banned from participating in the Champions League for the next two seasons by UEFA.

Should the decision stand, UEFA's admission criteria means that finishing in fifth place in the Premier League this season would mean qualification for the Champions League.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal are all in the race for a place in the top five position in the Premier League at the end of the season.

The Blues sit in fourth place, two points ahead of fifth placed Sheffield United, while Tottenham are in sixth.

"Manchester City is disappointed but not surprised by today’s announcement by the UEFA Adjudicatory Chamber.

Arsenal are in 10th position, eight points adrift of Sheffield United, but could close the gap going into the final games of the season.

City were found guilty by the Independent Adjudicatory chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) to have misled UEFA in their FFP submissions by inflating their sponsorship revenues, and will serve the ban during the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.
